2020 June Favorites

Books

  • The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren

I will be doing a full review of this book soon. It was lovely and I gave it 5/5 stars.

Movies

  • Knives Out
  • Booksmart

I absolutely loved both of these movies. I loved all the twists and turns in Knives Out. And what an amazing cast. I wanted to re-watch it the minute the end credits started. Booksmart was like the girl version of Superbad. It made me laugh so hard. It was so ridiculous but so relatable at the same time.

TV Shows

  • Watchmen
  • What We Do In The Shadows

I think every adult should watch the show Watchmen. It was so unbelievably timely to watch right now. It is one of those shows you have to pay attention to. You can’t really be playing on your phone and make sure you pause if you need to stop watching for a minute. Although it seems like nothing makes sense at first, I can promise you that it all comes together in the end.
For both of these shows, I never saw the corresponding movies from years ago. What We Do In The Shadows is just a quirky good time involving vampires, their familiars, witches, and werewolves.

2020 may favorites

Books

  • Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert
  • The House with Chicken Legs by Sophie Anderson

Get a Life, Chloe Brown is now one of my favorite romance novels of the year. I loved every second of it. It made me laugh so hard I snorted. Love, love, love. Even if you don’t normally read romance, please read this book!
The House with Chicken Legs was like a mix of Baba Yaga tales I am familiar with, Howl’s Moving Castle, and Coco. I loved the writing style, the characters, and the message.

Movies

I somehow didn’t watch a single new movie in May.

TV Shows

  • The Great

I love alternate history/fantastical history/anti-history books, movies, and shows. Especially if they are humorous. It’s my favorite genre other than fabulism. I really don’t care at all how historically inaccurate this show is, I love it.

YouTube/Twitch

Just amazing Twitch streamers that I love.
