o.w.l.s magical readathon 2020 wrap up

Wizarding Career: Seer
O.W.L.s: Ancient Runes, Astronomy, and Divination
Original post here.

Ancient Runes: Heartstopper 1, 2, & 3 by Alice Oseman
Astronomy: This is Not a Drill by Extinction Rebellion
Divination: The Immortalists by Chloe Benjamin

I ended up dropping the extra class of Herbology for Merpeople Linguistics. It was an add-on, so I don’t feel bad about not doing it.

The Heartstopper series by Alice Oseman is just so damn adorable. It’s about the blossoming relationship between Charlie and Nick, the challenges they face, and how they grow together. 5/5 rating.

The Immortalists by Chloe Benjamin is a literary fiction novel about four siblings who visit a woman during their adolescence who can predict the exact moment they will each die. It challenges the thoughts around destiny/fate and choice. 4/5 rating.

I first heard about Extinction Rebellion from Leena Norms and she did an amazing video on them and this book here. This is Not a Drill is filled with essays from activists and scientists alike. As scary as it was to read and face the truth about just how bad things are getting in regards to climate change, I feel it is a required read for everyone. We need to start taking climate change seriously. Not just on a personal level, but we also need corporations to take it seriously. 5/5 rating.
