new moon in Scorpio

  1. The Magician. Waiting to start my life.
  2. The Wheel. I need to stop trying to control the outcome.
  3. Temperance. I need to be better about balancing my energy.
  4. Ace of Cups. That I am only human.
  5. The Hanged Man. I need to learn to go with the flow.

end of the year book tag

  • Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish? Yes. I would like to finish The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle. I did not start it that long ago, but I am in a reading slump and am concerned I won’t finish it this year.
  • Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year? Yes. For me, I like to spend a good chunk of the dark half of the year in reflection and reading books on Paganism and Witchcraft. Right now I have two I am reading, Year of the Witch and Utterly Wicked.
  • Is there a new release you’re still waiting for? Nothing comes to mind right away. I was dying to get my hands on The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires but a friend bought it for me and I read it immediately.
  • What are three books you want to read before the end of the year? I would like to read some books that have been on my shelves for some time. Pachinko by Min Jin Lee, The Revenant by Michael Punke, and Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng.
  • Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favorite book of the year? I don’t think so. Right now my top favorites are The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller and Follow Me to Ground by Sue Rainsford.
  • Have you already started making reading plans for 2021? Yes and no. I have not set a goal for next year, but I am trying to come up with a better way to prioritize the books on my TBR.

GirlTheory is 15 years old

With everything going on this year, it wasn’t until I was brainstorming ideas for this site a few weeks ago that I realized I have had this website for 15 years. This website has gone through a lot of changes over the years. Blogs don’t really seem to be as big of deal or as popular as they were when I first bought this website, but I just feel like I will never let this site go.

In hindsight, I really wish I would have kept a record of all the changes that this website has gone through, but I did not and many, many posts have been deleted over the years. In fact, I think at one point I did a completely uninstall and re-install of WordPress, thus losing all my old posts and writings.

As much as I love watching YouTube, and it would probably gain me more an audience to have a YouTube channel, I just cannot do it. I hate recording myself and therefore, hate editing videos of myself. So for now, I will stick with this website.

In it’s current iteration, this website is part blog, part journal, part book log, and part magickal entries. It is always a work in progress.
