2020 April Favorites

  • Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by JK Rowling
  • A Week to be Wicked by Tessa Dare
  • Heartstopper volumes 1, 2 & 3 by Alice Oseman
  • This is Not a Drill by Extinction Rebellion

HP was a re-read. I am working my way through the series again as I can. I would also like to read the illustrated editions soon.
A Week to be Wicked I listened to via audiobook and it was fantastic. It’s book two in the series and my favorite one.
Heartstopper is an amazing comic about friendship, relationships, coming out, and just adolescence in general. I love it.
I am not sure if reading a book about climate change during a global pandemic was such a good idea, but I am glad that I am read This is Not a Drill in general. It scares the crap out of me, but I don’t think burying my head in the sand and ignoring what is happening is the right move. I feel this book should be a required read.

  • Onward

If you have ever played D&D or any fantasy type role-playing game, you need to see this movie. It made me laugh pretty hard and then it hit me right in the feels. So cute. I loved it.

TV Shows

  • Mrs. America
  • Bob’s Burgers
  • Derry Girls

I was on the fence about watching Mrs. America right now because I knew it was going to piss me off due to the portion of history it covers. And I didn’t really need more reasons to be pissed off. But I just couldn’t get over the casting choices and I needed to see it asap. No regrets. It’s as amazing as I thought it would be.
Bob’s Burgers is one of my go-to’s when I need to laugh. Some of my favorite episodes I have watched recently are The Fresh Princ-ipal and Roamin’ Bob-iday.
Derry Girls is just another great go-to for a laugh. The pilot episode alone is amazing. Highly recommend.

Have I introduced you to my lord and savior? Everyone should be watching Leena Norms in my humble opinion.
I don’t know what to call this layering of sounds with music, but I am obsessed with it. Especially when it’s Hozier. ♥
Liziqi is just what I needed during this time. I find her videos so soothing to watch. I highly recommend them if you just want to give your brain a nice break.
I’ve finally given in and just made an account on Twitch to start watching gaming streams. I love Vixella and am now obsessed with her streams.

Annie Warren is a treasure.
